Student Video
I believe that a student can show whether he or she truly learned something by teaching the topic him or herself. With that in mind, I encourage my students to make videos throughout the year in order to show their mastery of a topic. In ECI 546, New Literacies and Media, I conducted a Project-Based Inquiry project with a peer, Rebecca Dunhem. Our PBI project was based around the compelling question, "How do student generated videos affect student engagement with historical content?" Rebecca and I conducted our research with my fourth period class during the 2013-2014 school year during their unit on the Age of Revolutions. Below is a link to the video Rebecca and I made about our experience working with student video, as well as a copy of our written report. *Unfortunatley, because the video was uploaded to the NC State College of Education surver and not directly to YouTube, it cannot be embedded into the page.
